Get to know all the deets of our forthcoming issue!
When it comes time for us to launch a new issue and decide on a theme, the gals and I have a meeting where we discuss our ideas and figure out what would work best. This year our meeting was in February, and we were a little inspired by all the Valentine’s Day love, so Desire was born.
But just because it was the season of love and sentimentality, doesn’t mean that we’re exclusively after romantic sonnets and tales of relationships. After all, Desire can mean so much more.

What can you desire? Love, sex, but also power, money, respect, success, etc. An initial theme idea was Indulgence, which we liked for its variety, but it may have been harder to interpret for our photographers and artists. Similar to Indulgence, though, Desire can be all consuming and become a bit much…
For this theme we’re really excited to explore all the facets! Whether it be the softer tones of first love and first encounters, to the harsher more intense ideas of Desire as a dangerous and corrupting power. How far will you go to get what you Desire? Are any Desires forbidden? What is the feeling of first Desire like?
“The enormity of my desire disgusts me,” wrote Richard Siken, but Napoleon Hill wrote “The starting point of all achievement is desire.” Do with this what you will.
