We’ve compiled 12 simple and easy questions which will determine your reading habits so you can see what book we think you’d enjoy reading next.

It can be difficult building a TBR (to be read) list when you don’t know what books are out there similar to those books you enjoy, or what to choose if you want to venture into a new genre. Answer our questions from what tropes you enjoy, if you like a happy ending, to if you like to know if they both die at the end, then count up your answers to see which book we most likely recommend for you.

1. What genre do you typically read?

3. Do you like to read new releases?

You must like reading about flawed and complicated characters who fall in and out of love. Books with dysfunctional and passionate people are your cup of tea, where you can connect with them on an emotional level. Proceed with caution, this book may be your new obsession. 

Bs: You should read If I never met you by Mhairi McFarlane!

This fake dating office romance is right up your street. You love down to earth, funny contemporary fiction and you are here for the workplace drama. There are many other deeper themes to this jovial novel which you appreciate to make it that much more enjoyable. 

Cs: You should read Behind closed doors by B. A. Paris!

This shocking, twisted thriller will blow your socks off. Jack and Grace seem to have a normal relationship, but there are bars on the windows and Grace is like a prisoner in her own home. You know how people have their favourite first line of a novel? Well, this book will become your favourite ending. 

Ds: You should read Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro!

Wow, you’re in for a ride. This sci-fi, contemporary novel follows a woman as she reaches into her memory from her time at boarding school with children who were there for a reason they couldn’t quite comprehend at such a young age. These children had to navigate a world where they were made for a different purpose to other humans, and face the consequences of not being normal.
